Who Can Undergo Hair Transplant?

In such cases, hair transplantation is recommended to restore hair growth where the hair has stopped growing.

Follicular unit extraction (FUE)

During the FUE procedure, your surgeon's team will shave the back of your scalp. Afterward, the doctor will remove one hair follicle at a time. As the area heals, your existing hair will cover the small dots. Both procedures continue from this point. Following the preparation of the grafts, the surgeon numbs and cleans the area where the hair will be placed, makes a hole or slit with a scalpel or needle, and carefully places each graft.
The procedure will generally take about 4 to 8 hours, depending on how large the transplant will be. You might need another procedure later on if you continue to lose hair or decide you want thicker hair.

The charge will be Rs. 20 and Rs. 25 per hair graft, depending on the donor area's condition. Two to four hair strands make up a single hair graft. The cost of a hair transplant for 1000 hair grafts is estimated to be between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 35,000.

Hair Transplant Cost

Hair Transplant cost usually varies depending on the number of sittings and the transplant procedure you have opted for. It also depends on the patient's condition and several other factors like chosen room type, the doctor's recommended procedure based on your health condition, insurance coverage, etc. Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) or Follicular Unit Strip Surgery (FUSS) usually costs less than Follicular Unit Extraction as the later procedure requires individual grafting.

Factors affecting the Hair Transplant Cost

• Level of baldness: Hair transplant cost in Mumbai is heavily influenced by your level of baldness. There are seven levels of baldness, from 1 to 7. The first stage of baldness is level 1 and the last stage is level 7. As the level of baldness increases, the cost increases.
• Additional therapies: Some patients may require additional Hair PRP or Mesotherapy sessions after hair transplant surgery in order to achieve better results. Additional therapies or medications will increase the cost accordingly. Personalized packages can be offered in these cases.
• Donor area: You will usually receive hair grafts from the back of your head. In some cases, the back of your head may not have healthy and strong hair follicles to survive the surgery. We will take hair grafts from your chest or beard if this is the case. Taking hair follicles from these areas requires more precision, increasing the cost.
